A popular and respected Abuja-based philanthropist, Hajia Habiba Abubakar has recently been honored with yet another award, having garnered the ADMA Best Humanitarian Service of the Year Award during a recent trip to the Netherlands. The award was given to Abubakar by the Africans in Diaspora organization, in recognizing her for the continued work of EAP, a Non-Government Organization she has led without the help of outside monetary contributions for over eight years. Though she acknowledged appreciation for the award during her acceptance speech, Abubakar was adamant about the primary purpose of her organization, which continues to fulfill her desire to help and meet the needs of the less fortunate throughout Nigeria.
Habiba Abubakar has won several awards throughout her philanthropic career, including the recent National Waves award, provided to Abubakar for running the most Outstanding NGO in Abuja. Her good works have also earned her recognition from the United Nations, which recently made her a United Nations Peace Ambassador.
Abubakar continues to provide much-needed help to Nigeria’s poor, elderly and working family populations. She is respected and admired for her continued devotion to her charity and to the impoverished community.
